Well today is Saturday and yesterday I waited to blog until later in the morning and where did that get me?..... A published blog on the wrong page LOL.
So.... Let's focus today and since that's how my day is going let's talk about focus and how to focus.
I had my website evaluated last week. I got a wonderful score (or so they tell me) but in speaking with the consultant critiquing my page I was able to notice I have way too much going on with my website.
I have my art, my blog, my itworks life and products and even Javi's World (separate website tho so that's good) but the thing is I don't want to change me website but I believe I am going to have to. But it's ok.
My initial thought was OMG this is going to be horrible! So much work to do and re-do and I don't want yet another website. BUT my website would preform muh better if it had one focus.... Hmmm
Now for me.... This is hard... I am an artist and most creative people are often all over the place.... In different places. But after much thought I have decided it isn't so bad to have a separate website with separate info for my separate businesses.
But the thing about working and being productive is that FOCUS is key. If you have a million things to do and you can't focus on one or two at a time to complete as many things as possible you will end up with a bunch of unfinished business.... That's definitely not what we want.
Do in order to focus, here are my tips
1. Each day choose 1-3 things with your business (or any category) that you NEED to work on or finish.
2. Set time (preferably before 10am) that you can work and be productive and be sure to focus during that time don't allow distractions in. Make this DND time (do not disturb)
3. Check off what you finish. When you have a list of things to do even if it's only a few things, it's nice to be able to check things off a list and say OK that's done!
4. Consistently stick to a plan that helps you FOCUS. When you have routines for things it's easy to stick to it and make it habit. Consistency is key with anything.
